Nejla Seyhan Susam, Cyber Defense Technologies Manager at Garanti BBVA, discussed the feasibility of human-independent, proactive systems in cyber defense. Susam stated:
In this transformation, it is essentially not feasible for humans alone to handle the sheer volume of work involved. To keep pace with attackers in this arms race, it is crucial to utilize AI and increase speed on the defense side. Our future vision entails designing systems—leveraging emerging technologies—that can anticipate threats that do not yet exist, devise defenses against them independently of human intervention, and execute the necessary actions and responses; establishing such a proactive and predictive system is a critical priority for us.
