Ali Çakıroğlu, Director of Information Technology at BELBİM, spoke about cyber risk management using artificial intelligence and the new frontiers of threats. Çakıroğlu said the following:
We’re definitely seeing attacks related to artificial intelligence right now. What are these attacks? For example, passwords that were thought to be unbreakable for years are now being cracked much faster, and safes that you thought were very secure can now be opened much more easily. This is because every encryption method is actually tied to a specific time period and requires powerful computers. Now, artificial intelligence has begun to drastically shorten that time frame. This leads to increased risks in areas where AI is used. In addition, there are AI systems developed by companies. For example, “Anthropic’s” “Mythos,” which was recently released, has begun uncovering vulnerabilities in products from long-established companies that had remained undetected for years. Artificial intelligence is now directly bringing to light vulnerabilities that might not have been found by human effort—or that would have taken years to uncover. I think this is leading us toward a somewhat dystopian and frightening world.
