Today, the hybrid workforce model is being adopted by many organizations globally. Forbes estimates that over 84% of organizations prefer this model. A second key trend is the increasing use of SaaS and cloud applications. IT and security teams are working to ensure users can access these applications quickly and securely.
In the post-pandemic era, there is a strong emphasis on consolidation, driven by the cybersecurity skills gap and the goal of simplifying network design. Customers are moving toward a consolidated architecture—reducing the number of point products—to cut costs and achieve a better security posture.
FortiSASE provides end-to-end secure access by combining Zero Trust principles with components such as distributed architectures, SD-WAN, firewalls, and CASB. A key element driving SASE adoption is the need to provide secure remote access for users. Many customers may still be using legacy VPN solutions; these solutions often fall short of the performance required for modern networks and present an opportunity to transition to Zero Trust.
Since users work from anywhere, essential security features—such as web filtering, IPS, and SSL inspection—can be employed to enhance security before web traffic is accessed. Additionally, CASB enables the monitoring and visibility of SaaS applications.
FortiSASE operates uniquely for each user. Users connect to the system via the FortiClient Agent, and the system directs them to the appropriate services. Tunnels can be established for micro-branches or edge locations using products such as Forti Access Points and FortiExtenders, while SD-WAN is deployed for larger sites.
FortiSASE stands out due to its flexibility and AI-powered security services. Additionally, the user-friendly interface of FortiOS ensures ease of cloud management and visibility. Fortinet boasts extensive global coverage, and a Point of Presence (POP) is set to open in Türkiye soon.
