What’s on the agenda for CISOs?
In an interview with Wise TV, Gürsel Tursun, Sales Director at Komtera, highlights that companies have largely completed their foundational security infrastructure, with the focus now shifting toward value-added solutions.
“CISOs have already addressed most of the core cybersecurity requirements within their organizations. They are now planning how to build upon this foundation. In the 2022–2023 period, there was a significant focus on—and deployment of—endpoint solutions, such as EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response). The goal now is to integrate new, value-added products that can alleviate operational burdens and provide enhanced protection. In this context, AI technologies have come to the forefront, alongside an increasing focus on SOAR (Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response) and NDR (Network Detection and Response) solutions. We anticipate that these tools will facilitate better integration between existing products, enable intelligence sharing, and streamline automation workflows. Furthermore, we are entering a phase where there will be a strong emphasis on ‘hardening’—implementing stricter security configurations—a topic that was not widely discussed in the past.”
A New Era in Cybersecurity: Preparing for the Future
In today’s digital world, cybersecurity has become more critical than ever. While companies must meet their current cybersecurity requirements, they must also remain prepared for the threats they may encounter in the future. In this context, organizations aim to enhance their protection by continuously updating their cybersecurity strategies and integrating new technologies. This article explores the requirements of the new era in cybersecurity, as well as the prominent technologies in this field.
Integration of New Technologies
Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning play a crucial role in cybersecurity, helping to detect threats more rapidly and effectively. Furthermore, solutions such as SOAR (Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response) and NDR (Network Detection and Response) automate security processes, thereby reducing workloads and enabling faster response times.
Integration Across Solutions and Intelligence Sharing
Integrating various security solutions allows for more effective threat management. Intelligence sharing helps companies become better prepared against potential threats. Such integrations empower security teams to make faster and more effective decisions.
The Importance of Hardening Policies
“Hardening” refers to the measures taken to bolster the security of systems. These policies make systems more resilient. By hardening their existing solutions, companies can minimize potential security vulnerabilities.
