Which aspects are being neglected in terms of security?
Ömer Özaşık, Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO) at Vitel A.Ş., explains how the speed at which we adopt technology can sometimes cause security processes to be sidelined.
In reality, it is not that things are being neglected; rather, as a nation, we tend not to place enough emphasis on certain procedural aspects. For instance, when undertaking a project abroad, the entire workflow—from firewalls and user authorization analysis to the centralized monitoring and management of end-user devices—must be managed without leaving any security gaps. Because we, as a country, strive to keep pace with technology rapidly, we sometimes overlook the development of these essential processes. We decided to conduct a brainstorming session, leveraging our expertise and experience to identify the gaps in these processes and determine which products from our portfolio could be used to address them. After all, no matter how flawless you believe your system to be, as long as the human factor is involved, vulnerabilities arising from human behavior can be exploited by malicious actors to cause significant harm.
The Importance of Security Processes
The rapid advancement of technology today has further heightened the importance of security processes. Especially in international projects, it is crucial to close security vulnerabilities and ensure that all processes are managed comprehensively. In this article, we will explore why security processes are so vital and how they can be made more effective.
Keeping Pace with Technology
Our country has a culture that strives to keep up with technology at a fast pace. However, this rapid adoption can sometimes lead to certain processes being overlooked. While staying closely aligned with technology enables quick adaptation to innovations, it is equally important to ensure that all operational processes are managed thoroughly and completely. The Role of the Human Factor
Although technological systems may appear flawless, the human factor always presents an element of risk. Human errors or malicious individuals can lead to serious security vulnerabilities within these systems. Therefore, security processes must be managed with the human factor taken into account.
