How Can Artificial Intelligence Competencies Be Integrated Across the Entire IT Department?

Emre Deniz, IT Manager at Çalık Holding, discussed how AI capabilities could be integrated across the entire IT department. Deniz stated:

“If we look at a two- or three-year horizon—let’s say two years—what was our initial thinking? Like any major technological shift, this one felt somewhat disruptive, but we thought we could simply form a small team—maybe 5 to 10 people led by an AI specialist—to handle these tasks and projects, such as prompt engineering, chatbot implementations, and solutions for business units. We have since realized that isn’t the case; far more is expected than just those specific projects. Therefore, our primary goal is to integrate AI into the workflows and operational methods of all our horizontal IT teams. Beyond that, we aim to leverage the AI capabilities embedded within the corporate software applications used by business units. That is our new objective. I believe that once we achieve this, AI will truly become a partner within our organization, contributing to our success and delivering tangible value. Right now, the process often involves taking a workflow from our existing software or architecture, exporting the data, and processing it in an AI tool to generate results. However, I think everyone has realized that this approach isn’t particularly efficient.”
