Is Human Involvement Really Necessary When Artificial Intelligence Makes Decisions?

Özben Miçooğulları, Senior Director of Enterprise Sales for Cloudflare in Turkey and Qatar, spoke about whether human involvement is necessary when artificial intelligence makes decisions. Miçooğulları said the following:

I am not in favor of distinguishing between artificial and biological intelligence. We simply need to be certain that artificial intelligence will not harm humans under any circumstances. In this regard, I believe we must center our approach on Isaac Asimov’s Three Laws of Robotics. As long as we keep these principles at the center and guarantee that no harm comes to humans, we should move forward with whichever form of intelligence is faster. I don’t think we should be discriminatory—whether it’s artificial intelligence or human intelligence—in this regard. I think the desire to have a human present in the “loop” is actually somewhat related to the human need for control. If artificial intelligence can make more accurate and faster decisions than human intelligence, then ultimately we can leave the decision to the AI, and I don’t think there needs to be a human in the “loop.”
