Viennalife Chief Information Security Officer Eyüp Uyanık spoke about the key points highlighted in the European Union’s Artificial Intelligence Law. Uyanık stated:
“If we need to evaluate artificial intelligence in business transformation, first of all, we need to understand artificial intelligence correctly. Currently, in my opinion, I don’t think we, including technology experts, have a deep understanding of artificial intelligence, that we fully comprehend it, or that we can explore its limits. Even if we have made progress in this area, there are still some technological limitations in different sectors and different parts of the world. For example, I work in the finance sector. The finance sector has certain regulatory limitations specific to our country. What are these, for instance? The prohibition of transferring data abroad in some cloud applications, the need for certain rules during processing, and the necessity of establishing an internal structure. This is gradually becoming part of the ongoing transformation in our country. Furthermore, the European Union’s artificial intelligence law came into effect last year.” There, it’s necessary to correctly define the categories of artificial intelligence, prevent the use of harmful or unethical AI, and properly design and architecture the limitations and security functions before integrating them into the business process. Since almost all of these points are still in the development phase, I believe we need a lot of work and time to integrate them into business processes and use them efficiently.
The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Business Transformation
Artificial intelligence (AI) is emerging as a technology with the potential to create revolutionary changes in today’s business world. However, for this potential to be fully realized, AI needs to be understood and applied correctly. Understanding the role of AI in business transformation begins with exploring the limitations and possibilities of this technology. In this article, we will address the effects of AI on business transformation and the challenges encountered in this process.
Understanding AI
Integrating AI into business processes primarily requires a correct understanding of this technology. Many experts believe that we have not fully grasped the potential of AI and explored its limitations. This creates uncertainties about how AI will be used in the business world.
Technological Limitations and Sectoral Differences
One of the biggest obstacles to the widespread adoption of AI in the business world is sectoral differences and technological limitations. For example, in the financial sector, the use of AI can be limited due to data security and regulations. Such limitations prevent AI from fully realizing its potential.
Regulations and AI Laws
For artificial intelligence (AI) to be used effectively in the business world, regulations and laws need to be correctly defined. The European Union’s AI law represents a significant step in this area. This law introduces various regulations to ensure the ethical and safe use of AI.
The Ethical and Security Aspects of AI
Ethical and security issues are of paramount importance during the integration of AI into business processes. Various security measures must be taken to prevent the harmful or unethical use of AI, and the architecture of this technology must be carefully designed.
Integration into Business Processes
Integrating AI into business processes is a critical step for the efficient use of this technology. However, this process is fraught with challenges due to many factors still under development. The business world needs time and intensive work to effectively utilize AI.
The Future of AI
The future of AI in the business world depends on the correct understanding and application of this technology. To fully realize the potential of artificial intelligence (AI), many factors need to be considered, including sectoral differences, regulations, and ethical issues. In this process, the extent of the transformation that AI will create in the business world will depend on the decisions made regarding how this technology is used.
Although AI has great transformative potential in the business world, realizing this potential requires considering many factors. A proper understanding of AI, addressing issues such as sectoral differences and regulations, will facilitate the integration of this technology into business processes. The transformation that AI will create in the business world in the future will depend on the decisions made in this process.
